Key to the NEW Kingdom!

Yep, this is it!

I went over yesterday and got the key to the new house
wow

it's real!

We will start moving in tomorrow (Wednesday).

I want to thank Ed Messner, our agent, who stuck with us through AT LEAST twenty offers.
every time I drive by Jacksol Street, I will think of the people who took our offer that was 20 thousand over the asking price, made that the NEW asking price, but never said, "yes" to us. Ok, then!

I am wishing everyone a fantastic Tuesday!

Come on over, party at the new house!

Love you,

Kellyann

Cleaning my desk

Cleaning up my desk,
came across a small photo album
I put together for my farsi lessons three years ago...

Here is my favorite photo in the album:

It's me standing between the two big photos I made for Audrey Hazen's retirement party. I spent alot of time in the art room making those photos on those folding screens. The added benefit was that I got to know Janice Cinquegrano, the art teacher. It was a super great party! I was glad that I put effort into the party. I remember getting a really nice lei for Audrey because of her use of "Maui time" in the classroom... when her kiddos needed to transition from lunch recess back into the classroom, she would put on some Hawaiian music and allow everyone some "Maui time". I knew I was really gonna miss her when she retired, she was a bright and lovely light.

::::smile:::::

It's good to remember the good times at Albany Unified School District.

Hope all of your memories today are good ones!

Picking up the new appliances

Yep, we bought them, now we had to pick them up!

We rented a u-haul trailer and went down to the warehouse. Dr. R. backed the trailer down to the loading dock (there were four of them, there was a line, so they must have sold ALOT of appliances this weekend!).

Dr. R. brought u-haul blankets and bought a few dollys. We were ready to rumble!

There was quite a bit of conversation about our new refrigerator. Seems there was only one of them, and the experienced warehouse guy had all talked it up when bringing it to the warehouse. "OH!! YOU bought my fridge!" the guy said.

Here they are loading the last major appliance, the dishwasher. The heavy one was the stove, I tell you! That stove is one HEAVY sucker!

It was nice that they loaded it for us. When we got to the storage place, Dr. R. and I were able to wrangle those puppies off the trailer and into the storage unit. The stove was very heavy, but the refrigerator was scary. I was on the front, with my shoulder against the non-video side, hoping that it wouldn't fall over on me!

Those dollies really came in handy!! Rez was very smart to get those!

After securing storage for the appliances, we took Mom and Dad to see the new house. It was sunset, balmy and beautiful. The carillion from the church was playing short hymns. We went for a Peet's coffee (pumpkin spice) and then Dr. R. drove us home.

Here's hoping that your day is productive!

Appliance Shopping

Yesterfday we went shopping at the Airport Appliance Warehouse Sale!!

Two years ago, we bought a much needed new dishwasher at the Appliance Warehouse Sale. Basically, it's a huge sale of dented, discontinued, returned and floor models.

Let's talk fridges. First of all, there were about a thousand (no exaggeration) models to choose from, so this entail a lot of walking. While we were driving there, I was saying, "You know, I like the fridge we have, I don't need water in the door, I don't need side-by-side doors. A fridge just like the one we have is just fine with me!" (famous last words)

Although there were a thousand refrigerators. this is the one we picked:

Yep... it has television in the door. The only one in the whole warehouse. Does this suprise anyone? (Guess who found it? Yep, Dr. R.!!)

Of course, we had to talk it over, look it over, talk some more, make the decision and go through the process of getting it put on our invoice. We were helped by a very nice young man named Tareeq, who followed us to our next decision:

dishwasher

Although we got to the sale while there were plenty of Bosch dishwashers available, we looked them all over and decided on the LG model. They were all great... dishwashers! yeee-haw!!

We really agonized over the stove. There were Wolfs and Tappans and Kitchenaids. There were Italian models and many, many beautiful stoves. We finally settled on this one, a NXR:

It has a convection fan and best of all... is GAS!!! (Yahhhhoooo!!!)
We also bought a vent hood from Eurotech and a garbage disposal.

Tareeq followed us around from appliance to appliance, complimenting each choice (he was a salesman, afterall) and writing up our invoice.

So, today, we are renting a trailer from uhaul and taking them to a storage unit. They all await the move to the new house!

Yeeeee haw!!

Hope you're cookin' with gas this morning!
Love,
Kellyann
