Randomness and Television

Hey, if you get the chance, watch "Prince Among Slaves" a true story of a Prince who is captured and sent to Natchez on slave ships and his forty years as a slave on a cotton plantation.

A story of grace under pressure, this movie chronicles Abdul Rahman Ibrahima Sori and his struggle for freedom for himself and his family. I had not planned to watch this movie, but was drawn into it while flipping the channels after "Perry Mason". I found this film to be enlightening and redemptive. Something about the historical nature and the realities of the world touched me.

For those of you with Netflix, this isn't available on watch it now, but you can order it delivered. It was an hour well-spent, thinking about the largest forced migration and the continuing effects on our country.

I hope this is a blessed day for you!
Love, Kellyann

There are certain parts of our history of which I am not proud. In fact I am embarrassed. Our treatment of the Native Americans and our practice of slavery are right up there at the top.
