We've had a couple of beautiful days here. After so much rain, it is really nice to feel the warmth of San Jose's early Summer. This morning, I sat out under the patio and read:
The cherry orchard (one tree, but how many trees do you need to make an orchard?) is producing nicely. It's a little hard to share with the birds, but there is enough for everyone:
The backyard garden is coming along. I've caged the wild tomatoes and the pumpkin is really putting on foliage:
Yesterday we went to Lowe's and Reza bought me a Gardena tree. The blooms smell so nice, we just have to figure out where to put it! I have decided to start a fig orchard along the back fence. So far I have one fig, but I have a few on order from Raintree Nursery.
This fig is so happy to be here, it has sprouted several new figs. These are the green figs, Kendota. I can hardly wait to plant a mission fig and a brown turkey. A veritable fig forrest! Who doesn't LOVE figs?!
Here's hoping that the change from Spring to Fall brings you joy and happiness (and cherries!)
Love you,
Kellyann

Hey Ms. Kelly! I am v. jealous of your cherries... our old trees are so confused, I am afraid we won't get any this year. And I'm not sure how many trees make an orchard...
Hooray for summer!
Oh to live in CA, where you can grow all this wonderful fruit! Your back yard sounds heavenly.
