not what I would can especially hard,
but I've been fighting a cold:
you know the drill
sore throat, stuffy nose, lack of energy
I don't drink coffee at home during the week,
which makes it all the sweeter when I can have espresso
in my bright orange cup.
I pulled it out to the patio to do some painting:

the blue handles of my paint brush
and the colors of my paintbox drew my interest:

the Buddha statue on the fence
cast a long shadow
a study in contrasts
beige against the weathered grey wood.

Finally, the sketches in my copy of Ellen Grace O'Brien's
"Live in the Soul: 90 Blessings in 90 Days: How to Live in the Soul"
These are my days fifty-six and fifty-seven:

I hope that your week was spectacular!
I was home sick on Tuesday
and on Wednesday I brought posole, cornbread and chocolate cake
as my contribution for the monthly teacher luncheon.
You'd be surprised at how motivating food is!
Thursday I went to check out San Jose State's Communicative Disorders Department
and was immediately brought back to the days of "clinic" and "clients" and professors!
Some things never change!
Mom and Dad are still in Colorado,
I talked to them yesterday and they seem to be enjoying themselves!
Happy Friday!
