Finally a Chance to Play!

Pat got me so most delicious new Daniel Smith watercolors for my birthday. I have been wanting to paint with them something fierce, but it has been a busy two weeks (like you wouldn't believe!! --but busy good, if you know what I mean!

Today I finally got a chance to break out the paper and the paints... drawing, sketching...

I love October pears, they are truly gifts from God. They are sweet beyond belief and they let us know that it is time to get ready for Winter (which is full of it's own gifts!). I was going to paint two pears, but one of them didn't make it to the patio... mmmmm! I brought out another espresso cup to sketch... it has a delicate blue flower incorporated in an art deco pattern. Mom and I found this cup in an antique store in Salinas when we visited Steinbeck's Museum (a very worthwhile trip).
